Question about Russian!

Someone requested that I translate my "Copy Link Text" extension to Russian, and even kindly provided me some text to use! Unfortunately, it was anonymous, so I cannot respond to them to say thanks or ask my question (in case you wander by here, btw, thank you!)

Text provided is: "Копировать текст ссылки"

What I'm unsure about is whether that text is appropriate for both the context menu item (a command/action), and for the extension name (a noun?). I use the same text for both in the English, but I don't know any Russian, so I can't tell if it's appropriate in both senses in there as well.

Translation engines help with meaning but not context, so unfortunately it's not something I can check on my own *rueful*

"Копировать" is a verb - it's the infinitive form ("to copy"), but also works in the context of things like recipes, directions etc.

What's the extension name? Where does that occur?

I don't really know him well enough to be comfortable to ask! But I got some information which reassures me that the text should be good for both cases, so I've gone ahead *G*

Which one? LJ or DW?

Either/both, but I'd probably have tried the LJ one first. It seems to have more "how do you say/proofread me/beta me"-type discussions.

LJ linguaphiles seems to have more discussions, period, at least in my experience - the DW one seems rather anæmic to me.

Er, I can read I swear *g*, leaving my rant here becuase I bothered typing it out!

On tons of things people seem to assume that developers have infinite resources and want things with perfect icons ( or other art assets ), full localization, etc... which sucks for single-people doing things, esp when they, like, aren't perfect and don't know every language out there and aren't great at art, or copy, or...

Mmm, yeah. One reason I'm so glad there's so much resources out there -- I replaced my original ugly icon with something from a free resource site (with credit of course *G*), and then I got localization in Russian from an anonymous source, which was pretty neat as well!
