Finally got around to scanning in/tagging/annotating the old bills we found late last year.

lady_angelina, especially, may want to see the old money pics.

I am particularly proud of this one of a five-peso bill which I annotated the hEll out of ;-)

Waaah. I miss the five- and ten-peso bills! Life was so much lighter when those were around. Plus, it made a body feel rich to have all those bills in the wallet.

On the other hand - the weight of coins in my bag is a great incentive for transferring them out of my change purse and into my change bottle (a piggy shaped bottle that used to hold honey from Jeju/Cheju, South Korea). At then end of the month, I usually have about 900-1000 pesos to deposit in my savings account!

There are still 10-peso bills! Or aren't they valid anymore? I miss the 5-peso ones. That was my daily allowance as a kid (5 pesos a day, crisp new bills, mmmm).

And wow! I think I get about 200 a month, if I'm really lucky. 900-1000 is an unexpected windfall!

I believe they're still valid. :) You just don't see them much around anymore... The 10-peso coins have pretty much replaced them.

Haha these are cool. I still like our modern bills best, because the colors (and uniform sizes!) make them easy to remember. The fifty and twenty (old twentys can look like fiftys!) could use some color changes though. Ditto for the hundred and thousand (both blue).

When I went to HK recently, I hated their bills, all weird sizes, and different colors based on the issuing bank. 8-} Granted, they were nice to look at (and had pretty cool paper used too) but man, the logistics of actually using them. o_o

Mmm, yes. When I was in HongKong, I found it so hard to arrange the money in my wallet! I was all, "But I can't align them! ARGH!"
