Throwing down the gauntlet (smileyface deleted)
Thursday, May 14th, 2009 05:51 pmI am going to challenge myself to use no emoticons for one week (<3s excluded, because <3s are not emoticons, they are A WAY OF LIFE).

Date: 2009-05-14 11:53 am (UTC)This actually kind of tempts me to try a gauntlet of my own, that being avoiding internetisms for a week. I think I might go crazy within a day but it'd be a fascinating exercise.

Date: 2009-05-14 11:59 am (UTC)Not all of them, I think. Just the ones that aren't complete words. And I will try to minimize those even then, but they are enough in the gray area that I shall insist on being able to use them, else I go insane.
(My next plan: to avoid using "hmmmm" and other such expressions in my comments)
