Filipino versus English

I was talking to pauamma, and I mentioned that I tend to be more comfortable writing English, but speaking Filipino. He asked me if that was common -- I realized that I have no idea! So:

It wasn't so much that I was actually learning other languages, it was that I was throwing in random phrases from other languages >_> I don't really miss being a teenager, really.

Hahaha! Oh! (I went through that phase, except that I was throwing in random phrases from Japanese to make myself look cute. I don't miss being a teenager either.)

Japanese was the main language I did that in, with some Spanish and occasionally French added in.
