Filipino versus English

I was talking to pauamma, and I mentioned that I tend to be more comfortable writing English, but speaking Filipino. He asked me if that was common -- I realized that I have no idea! So:

it makes me wonder how i'm going to do when i live in another country that will require me to speak in english instead of filipino :(

Write everything down first and then read it out loud? :D
