At least two of the premiere medical schools in my country have a higher minimum QPI for female students than for male students because girls can get pregnant and drop out of medical school.

Seriously?

PGH is where UP med students from UP Manila train. And you can be sure it's damn good training because PGH has all kinds of diseases the students will get exposed to, which they have to solve using dated facilities sometimes, rush deadlines. :D

UP has stringent requirements for taking in med students. They allow about 300 students max to enter their med program, and one has to have at least achieved a latin honor to even qualify (unless they have contacts).

I've heard the rule for UST, but I didn't know UP applied it too, but I guess UP has a lot to lose if students drop out, because students pay chickenfeed for med school tuition. Though that doesn't justify sexism at all. >.<
