Date: 2007-10-24 05:32 am (UTC)UP has stringent requirements for taking in med students. They allow about 300 students max to enter their med program, and one has to have at least achieved a latin honor to even qualify (unless they have contacts).
I've heard the rule for UST, but I didn't know UP applied it too, but I guess UP has a lot to lose if students drop out, because students pay chickenfeed for med school tuition. Though that doesn't justify sexism at all. >.<
