Dreamwidth invite codes
Tuesday, April 14th, 2009 04:14 pmNew batch of codes came in (part bounty, part just being part of the site). I just went through the comments in my last entry, and gave everyone who asked an invite. I think that almost everyone else on my friends list who is interested in moving or checking things out is already there, and um, I still have eight codes one code all out.
Will give them out to anyone who is interested. Comment with your email address, please, so I'll know where to send them to!
PS. Still accepting bribes of love.

Date: 2009-04-16 03:41 am (UTC)I love the diversity statement, and I am comfortable with its business plans (no ads, because it is bad for the community and bad for the long-term viability of the service. Instead they plan for carefully controlled growth).
There are tons of nifty new features, and lots of annoyances that have been removed or fixed. Long list of the major items, as of a month ago, and more things have been fixed since then. I can babble on more for you if you want. *g*
The site is still in closed beta, so not too many have accounts yet, but there is some talk in some circles about moving over. Though you don't need to -- DW provides some options (automatic cross-posting, prioritized-for-soon a way to read both public and protected entries on your LJ flist, importing your LJ to DW) to make it easier to either migrate completely to DW, or make DW your main journal but still interact with your friends on LJ.
Open beta commences April 30, at which point invites will be less scarce, and it will also be possible to buy a paid account (as little as one month), to bypass the code.
