Huge moment of dissonance when I found out it was Sulu, because he looked closer to Chinese than Japanese (though that still didn't look quite right either -- Wikipedia tells me Korean).

Not that it matters! But it was a very cross-eyed headsmacked moment. ("OH, that's Sulu, makes sense I guess.")

Whoa! He looked kinda blank-slate-ish (almost all of the characters in ST 2009 did), which I associate with very young, so I assumed he was about my age, maybe younger!
