Went to grandpa's place, and watched the fireworks display being set off at Mall of Asia, Bayview, and assorted other hotels and establishments, in the distance. Found the perfect viewing spot: one which had a wide enough view that we could look back and forth between several different shows.
There was one that was so close we had to crane our necks to look up, and ended up feeling a fine rain of grit or whatever it is fireworks drop, on our faces. I thought I had imagined it, until my cousin told me that she'd felt it too.
My immediate family doesn't light fireworks, and hasn't as long as I can remember. Apparently, this is all my fault.
One New Year's Eve, when I was about two or three, I'd grown bored with the hissing sparklers so I wandered off towards the big stuff. A rocket (kwitis) my dad had set off came down into the pile of rockets I was looking at and ignited them all. I was surrounded by a ring of fire, and no one could get at me. I eventually got out unharmed, but left my parents very scared.
I don't remember all this! I kinda wish I did :-)

And that's the final social/family thing of the year. Now I go zzzz.
