(This is my grumpy post)

My sister and I gave each other clothes that were too small for each other. And you know, I just realized that the difference beween us is this:

I gave my sister jeans that were a bit too small around the hips. What I said: "You look great! I'm sorry for giving you clothes that were too small".

My sister gave me this blouse which is a bit too small. What she said: "Hmmmm. Maybe once you've lost weight..."

I think she was trying to be helpful. I also think that she was (very emphatically) not. For a long time, her offhand comments about my weight left me feeling very self-conscious. Probably even just two years ago I would have been devastated. Now, for reasons I'll probably end up talking about in another post, things have changed. Her comments don't always roll off me, but tonight... tonight I looked in the mirror and you know, I still really like who I see, not just who she wants to see. So :-)

My sister gave my aunt a gorgeous yellow scarf. Problem? Scarf was mine. It got mixed in with my sister's stuff, and my sister decided it was a good candidate for gift recycling.

I'm torn between being pissed off, and falling over in amusement at the absurdity of the situation. I think I'll settle on a third emotion: *facepalm* Oh sis.

Did your sister believe in good faith that the scarf was hers/meant for her? (Also, yay positive body image.)
