A day's worth of Twitter (107)
Monday, November 10th, 2008 11:59 pm00:22:26 | — | closet cleaned, yay. Filtered out worn out clothes, and moved most of my clothes off of hangers and onto files (less space) |
00:24:37 | — | also trying some auto-detect/new default folder for downloads for torrents. Hoping that works out |
00:27:37 | — | will find out tomorrow if it's any good (tomorrow == sleepy, unable to think in the morning, grabbing things instinctively. Will it be e ... |
00:42:07 | — | trying out the TwitterPod mac twitter client |
00:42:53 | — | Pinocchio is not as light-hearted as I thought when I was a kid. A *lot* of it is a lecture on how to punish naughty little boys :p |
00:45:41 | — | hmmm the makers of Onyx also wrote a personalization app called Deeper. Checking it out |
01:11:29 | — | aha finally got twitterpod to work! (Was not loading friends tweets before) so I have quicksilver for quick posts, and twitterpod for ev ... |
01:13:52 | — | I like having Growl updates for twitter statuses :) |
01:15:27 | — | I am puzzled. cmd f7 shows one image; cmd shift f7 shows a different one for quickpost |
01:20:25 | — | testing cmd+f7 |
01:22:47 | — | hm so I cannot figure out what cmd+shift+f7 does... it doesn't actually post anything :-( |
01:26:38 | — | how strange.... in certain modes, I can get two different title-looking hover things when Ihover over a status... |
01:28:48 | — | ahh I think I found where Cruz stores its cookies: with/in Safari's |
01:29:25 | — | oh huhhhhh. the new profile says how many tags you have |
01:34:26 | — | aha, so now it's cmd space for _wired, and cmd f7 for normal \o/ |
01:34:44 | — | and now that I have an actual twitter client, I can stop stalking my rss feed :) |
01:35:32 | — | (if I could find another twitter client that has a global hotkey for posting, I may be able to use that to replace the quicksilver one, ... |
01:37:11 | — | so an easy way to get a tags count is there, finally, yay. (Just... not in the tags page. Unless it is and I do not know it yet?) |
01:38:12 | — | huhhha nd nonexistent users get an actual page, that is within the sitescheme and not just a random white page with a message |
01:42:52 | — | I like the open link in message feature of this (cmd 4). it means I don't have to copy and paste, or try to open the tweet and click fro ... |
01:43:19 | — | (that one is hard if the user has their tweets protected, since I'm not logged into twitter on my browsers) |
01:49:29 | — | hmm Cruz has applescript support? |
01:52:31 | — | grr I cannot find the standard library of applescript commands though |
01:52:41 | — | s/library/dictionary/ |
02:00:07 | — | unghh in order to do find-replace in applescript, I need to call a shell-script? |
02:03:11 | — | ah no thank goodness something sane: http://tinyurl.com/3xcw7y |
02:04:06 | — | testing with an |
02:07:16 | — | testing from curl commandline with an ampersand |
02:15:02 | — | plus signs and ampersands :( need to figure out how to escape them in curl |
02:16:25 | — | ooooh let me try that one more time: + and &. How do we fare now? |
02:16:58 | — | URL-encoded them (&->&, +->+) and they work now! |
02:17:09 | — | yay, no more broken URLS (hopefully) |
02:18:19 | — | testing a URL... http://tinyurl.com/6kk9wc |
02:19:29 | — | *claps hands gleefully* it works! (that just leads to my journal btw). The broken links have been irritating me for so *long*! |
02:20:47 | — | amused... there is a templated post in TwitterPod. What would I use that for, though? |
02:21:48 | — | weekend has been productive: got things to work, got a bit of coding written (albeit not done), cleaned up closet |
02:24:34 | — | templates make me think of the Chinese water torture... |
02:28:50 | — | I love love love the mark as read button in gmail (labs). |
02:37:22 | — | wheee . I have three applications mapped to f12 (cmd+f12=firefox;shift+f12=cruz;f12=terminal/irssi). Just a little more tweaking/removal ... |
02:38:09 | — | testing putting curl process in the background |
02:38:25 | — | oh I guess that didn't work :( |
02:40:28 | — | ah but this kinda really breaks the trigger for firebug conole. OTOH, I am more used to clicking anyway |
09:25:18 | — | I love how opinion columnists call articles evenhanded when they agree with them, and biased when they do not. |
09:25:37 | — | and by love I mean I need to stop reading this whiny column before I pop a vein! |
10:06:38 | — | PS. Would I still think it was whiny if I didn't disagree with it so much? |
10:07:20 | — | am over 6,400 tweets from this account now *G* |
10:08:01 | — | trying out Johnson&Johnson's face powder. Makes my nose and my skin itch. :x |
10:13:34 | — | clearing my calendar for Tuesday. Going out with friends! Hooray! |
10:14:08 | — | trying to get in touch with Kris... but I don't see her at the office yet :( |
10:16:07 | — | turning off the usage collector for Eclipse. I said yes, always the first time -_-; but it just keeps asking |
10:17:50 | — | I'm worried. I feel like I've lost my edge |
10:18:16 | — | all I want to do these days is sleep and eat, eat and sleep. |
11:03:13 | — | hmmm so using twhirl, which looks pretty good. the only thing it lacks is a global hotkey... |
11:07:06 | — | I take it back. twhirl has too many buttons. Interface feels cluttered. only advantage is multiple twitter accounts open at the same time |
11:08:58 | — | aw also no way to change colors between the two. (Am making do with changing opacity) |
11:09:25 | — | anyway, that's enough distraction for now. |
11:10:25 | — | if I could only get one of the twitter modules for deskbar-applet to work, that would be ideal (command does not show up in dropdown) |
11:11:04 | — | then the updates/popup notifications from twhirl, or any decent client, would be good.... |
11:16:28 | — | trying out a time tracker (Klok). would work okay if the miniature mode did not have a gigantic black empty box behind the working area! |
11:19:07 | — | ummm. every time I try to download an air application, it also tries to download and install AIR.... GRR |
11:27:47 | — | okay, Klok looks pretty neat. i think I can stop keeping a pen-and-paper timesheet now :) |
11:34:36 | — | I SAW KRIS YAY |
11:37:06 | — | *dies* the married couple (clients) are being so cute right now. *dies dies* |
13:18:44 | — | wonder if it is possible to run more than one command at a time with one alias in hiveminder |
13:27:21 | — | one of the bosses is cheerfully going through "one of the (jolly old) boys" phase. Beginning to feel slightly uncomfortable |
13:27:34 | — | also wondering where my sense of humor has gone to now? |
13:32:48 | — | a lot of things simple in other languages seem complicated in Java only because it takes more lines. But it is by no means impossible! |
13:33:06 | — | (just painful. sometimes) |
14:04:20 | — | want coffee, need coffee, will get coffee. |
14:08:18 | — | wary of public restrooms. Some people are just *gross* |
14:17:37 | — | just tasted gingerbread cookies for the first time. yumm! |
14:19:46 | — | also, coffee. Mmmm. :-) am gradually growing able to drink it without feeling sick. And it is also waking me up properly now. that is good! |
14:21:43 | — | I miss the peppermint so much :( |
14:24:04 | — | currently studying code. Trying to figure out how to make this a module instead of stuck inside the main program logic |
15:00:00 | — | okay I was wrong. it's not *public* toilets that I need to fear |
15:02:57 | — | talking about old priest-principals we had, with my cousin. Pretty much agreed that Fr. Y was the most principled. |
15:05:23 | — | The rest may have been taking massive kickbacks, or sleeping with teachers (granted, this was scuttlebutt! And gossip is always mean) |
15:06:52 | — | (but I did see the difference in the principal's living quarters before and after Fr. Y. passed, so I am not fully skeptical ) |
15:09:38 | — | meaning, I take it for granted that they were skimming the school coffers. But do not think that one actually got a teacher pregnant! |
15:23:28 | — | had better luck with vice-principals! Fr. J was approachable, open-minded... gave me a conduct C because of swearwords but liked him anyway |
15:23:48 | — | he is now a bishop! Good for him! |
15:26:18 | — | s'too bad he's no longer an educator, though. He was *amazing* at motivating kids to do their best :) (Believed in them sincerely) |
15:30:18 | — | memories~ |
16:16:13 | — | fingers are shaking from the coffee *looks with mild curiosity* |
16:23:17 | — | can food sop up caffeine? *curious* |
16:23:29 | — | (like alcohol. never drink alcohol on an empty stomach) |
16:24:44 | — | obvious question of the day: "what does gingerbread contain?" answered a few momens later with, "oooooh" |
16:34:07 | — | having ideas is not worth anything if I'm too shy to mention them or implement them. Hm. Hm. Hmmmm. Need to sto pbeing scared |
16:34:17 | — | need to stop being scared of people poking holes :) |
16:45:41 | — | can you handle more than one hundred and sixty characters, Mr. twhirl, can you can you, huh, huh? Can you handle more than a hundred and ... |
16:45:54 | — | yep. YAY |
16:57:44 | — | I have "I wanna be rich" stuck in my head (also "I want to break free") |
17:25:31 | — | figuring something out about self: I *can* have respect for $venerable_occupation. just, for the most part, it is not *automatic* |
17:25:55 | — | er automatic respect, in response to $venerable_occupation. Do not know if this makes me a cynic or a realist |
17:26:03 | — | hmmm. possibly neither :) |
17:36:32 | — | time, you bastard. you move too fast |
17:45:31 | — | I would like to live somewhere where there is a public library. A library, a library! |
18:17:34 | — | I have never: ridden a camel. (Almost when I was a kid, but we had to pull away just as it was my turn! GR!) |
19:00:51 | — | sleepy, also making promises I cannot really keep. *hides* |
19:10:49 | — | eating leftovers from lunch. I feel alive again! |
21:41:18 | — | I can touch my toes. I can *touch my toes*. Without cheating. I am no longer stiff as a board!!!! |
22:16:02 | — | ran about 50 minutes today split 35/15. 415 cal yay. Trying to cut down that first segment (300cal) to 30 min. |
22:16:48 | — | only third time I have tried it. First time 36+, second time 34+ (yay), but slowed down the third time because I was lazy. Was hoping to equ |
22:17:54 | — | well there is still Wednesday. Not Tuesday because am going out with friends then! |
23:07:55 | — | fail whale... suspend owl? |
23:08:08 | — | does not rhyme! |
23:46:37 | — | hooray we have the new (cheap) shelves |

Date: 2008-11-14 02:28 am (UTC)Yeah, the corruption stories were rampant... but I don't really know if there's truth to them (although that swanky new principal's office was a bit suspicious XD)

Date: 2008-11-15 06:58 pm (UTC)The swanky new principal's office, yes! Also (and take this with a grain of salt, because my memories are a bit fuzzy as this happened so long ago), I managed to get a peek into the principal's room under, uh, whoever it was that got the admin office retiled, and I saw a marble floor, and a 20+ inch flatscreen TV. Which is no big deal now, but this was during the days when 15-inch tvs were pretty much the norm, and I think even 17-inch made people go "WOW", and di talaga uso ang flatscreen.
It really stuck in my mind because my parents recently got a 22-inch TV for their room, and I knew how much that cost (scarily expensive ;-)), and the one in the principal's room was even bigger than that!
