Do you like War and Peace? I'm reading The Waves by Virginia Woolf and was thinking of trying War and Peace next.

I have read it once before, and I like it (but do note that I am reading purely for fun, and tend to ignore or discard any form of literal analysis)

It's not so much fun-haha, but it's pretty interesting, and there's just so much going on! I'm catching events on my current readthrough that I didn't think were significant the first time I read it *g*

I figured you didn't mean haha fun, just enjoyable. Some books are just too hard to get into.

I mentioned to my husband that I was thinking of reading War and Peace next and he says he wants to read it outloud to me! He has a great reading voice. We probably won't start right away, but I'm looking forward to it. It's been years since he read a novel to me.

I haven't ever re-read anything significant like Tolstoy, but I've heard that second readings can bring out different aspects. Nice.

*grins* True, that. I haven't enjoyed any of the other Russian classics I've read for pleasure (OTOH, "other Russian classics" is composed entirely of Crime and Punishment. So)

I hope you have fun reading War and Peace with your husband! Get him plenty of water! The book is a tad long ;-)

Oh, and this is sort of strange, but I noticed that your comment ended up as a reply to my entry and not to other comments. Has that happened to you a lot lately? I'm wondering if something has changed...

i think that on your site i missed the reply button and just went for the leave a comment since it was big and right below your comment back to me. i'm pretty sure that it's me being sloppy and not the code changing.
