Date: 2008-03-16 02:29 am (UTC)If you are bringing a laptop, be sure to pack a an adapter that's specifically designed for a Japanese household (though the hotels should have an international-standard power outlet). If I recall correctly, they might be using a different plug-type than ours.
According to this traveler's plug set, the sockets in Japan supposedly look like:
