Indoor smokers <--> irrational anger

People who smoke indoors are annoying and should be shotput out the door. (Just came back from lunch, where a random obnoxious person decided to smoke inside McDonald's, and now the smell of smoke is clinging to me and I want to bite something).

I figure you'd need to hire someone with strong arms, get some apparatus to help him spin properly, set up some thick padding outside the door, and maybe widen the doorway so that people being thrown out don't actually hit anything on their way out.

...damnit, on the other hand, if you expand the doorway too much, the smoke from all the smokers outside goes in, which would make all the above measures useless.

When I walk home, it's usually in the opposite direction of the wind, and there's often a person in front of me who is smoking and holding the cigarette just so that it blows right into my face. The sidewalk should have a special smokers section, like restaurants do.

What makes it even more lovely is when the smoker sees fit to practically follow you around with their cigarette, especially at a bus stop or some place where you more or less have to stay put in the general area. They may not realize they're doing that, granted, but... if you have the gall to ask them not to do that, you're likely to get a bunch of invectives hurled at you. Bleh.

In my idea of a perfect world, tobacco would not even exist, but I realize that is probably going way too far.

Oh ugh. When it's time to go home, the steps outside my building (and all the neighboring ones) are crowded with smokers. I've learned to stay upstairs just a bit longer to let them (and the smoke!) clear out.

That's the way it is at the school I'm at now. They crowd around the doors, especially if it's rainy or snowing or... a day that ends with a y. HATE.

The school I used to go to limits smoking to certain areas of the campus. I just learned to stay away from those areas ;)
