Cutting down tabs

I started with 46 tabs, and made it my goal for today to Get Stuff Done, and whittle down that number of tabs.

Now I'm down to only 49 \o/

If I work really hard, I may be able to keep it from ballooning to 60...

are you sure you weren't channeling my life? (Currently at three rows of Firefox tabs in only one of my four browser instances, I have no idea how many tabs in the other three, and 788 messages in my e-mail inbox).

788 messages! *offers sympathies* I managed to wrestle mine down to something reasonable (heh) by dint of ignoring almost everything past $timeperiod ago.

One of the hardest things I ever did.

AHAHAHAAH. Yeah. That sounds about right. I am doing quite well right now, making a point to try to close things, and currently I have 129 tabs in one instance and maybe 10 in my other instance? And a handful in Safari, but that hardly counts. TABS. I love them.

Well, there is a certain amount of pain involved... always more tabs to go, never get to the end!

hahaha! Sometimes I will glance at my memory usage of FF and it will be higher than the gross national debt, so then I just start over. :-p

Ahahahha I don't even look at the memory usage anymore. I just whack everything closed every once in a while, and hope that tab recovery puts everything back.

10 tabs top

It is rare that I have more than 10 tabs open at the same time in FF but I have 300 messages in my inbox that I kept as important, need attention to reply. Some of them are almost 3 years old...

In my editor there are currently 25 files open. I am surprised it can manage.

Oh man, I cannot remember when I last went to 10 tabs. I think, um, many months ago, and that only after Firefox crashed and I lost my tab session history.

My editor tabs tend to cycle a lot more than my browser tabs, because they don't remember which tabs were open last time. Somewhat sad, but I guess it's part of my workflow right now.
