I take back what I’d said about the romance in the Vanyel books being somewhat frustratingly limited as a product of their time

I mean they are but they actually hold up decently well and I’d forgotten about the whole family redemption / acceptance arc.

The thing I’d remembered that made me say it was limited was the tragic love story. And these days I’m so over the tragic gay love stories. Buuuuut I’d somehow forgotten how long Stefan and Vanyel had had to get comfortable with each other, and also how long they had after. You know.

So yeah tragedy. But it doesn’t end there. So I’m good with that.
