Glasses hacks

Glasses broke just before YAPC, so i repaired them with the limited resources available to me (two small rubber bands and a black marker).

Couple weeks later those gave out. Luckily this time i was with idonotlikepeas and girlgonemad. We found out beading wire would help!

After that it was just a couple minutes with tweezers...

Hee! My husband had the same problem - fixed with a paper clip! Worked until we could get to the optometrist (all of three weeks?) and get the glasses properly fixed.

I used the paperclip method as well (to replace a screw). It worked so well that I forgot about it completely until an optometrist brought it up several months to a year later when I went in for a routine adjustment.

Was the marker for decoration, or did it contribute substantially to the repair?

The marker was just to hide the rubber band, initially, until i decided I didn't want to hide it anymore!
