Contacts!

I have just bought new contacts after a couple of years of not having any -- after I got my first set, my prescription went up, and it was more comfortable to just go back to glasses.

My eyes have been feeling off again, lately, though, so I went to get new lenses. Unfortunately, my prescription is so high that the lenses that I needed would be twice the price of my contacts, if I wanted to keep them relatively thin. So I took the plunge, and ordered a pair of contacts.

I wanted to get them tinted a brighter shade of brown, but that's not an option with the custom ones I ordered (*sad*). I do wish that my vanity would not be so hard to satisfy!

Had a bit of trouble remembering which goes where. IRC informed me that OD/OS on the prescription stands for oculus dexter(right) and oculus sinister (left) respectively. A bit of fussing around in front of the sink, and I now have my contacts in :D

(Having a slight bit of trouble focusing, trying to figure out if it is just that my contacts are in wrong, or that the prescription for my astigmatism is off. I hope it is the former, much less expensive, and easier to correct)

So, now I have my contacts on. I am rediscovering peripheral vision. It is good.

Might also be your eyes are "OMG this is different do not like"

I did notice when I switched from like my backup pair to my current prescription my eyes bitched for a few days.

So you can see your computer's keyboard, mouse, monitor, and disks?

I was thinking of hard disks (which I didn't say explicitely), so they're the same thing, really. :-)

Because I want to compare with my own prescription: how bad are your eyes? Mine are -7 in one and -8 in the other.

Yay for contacts! I'm thinking of getting a pair in time for the holidays. To prepare for any social events I may be required to attend.

Since I spend a lot of time at home, I favor the wearing of glasses more than contacts. I'll have to figure out what I want after my next eye-check. Am pretty sure I have abused my eyes and increased the grade in the process, woe.
