General packing list

So I've split up what I'm packing into a few categories. These are:

• things I could technically buy there but it would be embarrassing to be without (underwear)


• things I probably need (clothes, shoes)


• things I could buy there but it would be nice to have on the first day (pen, notebook, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, napkins)


• things my mom is making me bring (medicine, these weird plastic things I'm not sure what but I'll take it on faith that they'll prove useful)


• the essentials (laptop, ticket, passport, school documents)


• misc (money, ipod, camera)

Probably forgot something, but k.

why does it look so simple when you list it out? i don't know how i manage packing without a list like yours... XD

oh yeah.. you might also want something to hug (a stuffed toy maybe) when you feel homesick... hehe...

LOL. I cannot imagine you walk without clothes. OK, scrap that.

Have you check the season there? So you know what clothes to bring.

...Why is money under misc and not essentials?

Because if I forget, I can have some wired to me. (Especially since it would be unwise to bring as much money, in cash, as I would actually need to live in China for five months)

Hmm. But however little you do actually bring, it's still essential? MORE ESSENTIAL THAN UNDERWEAR.

(Btw, I think I'll have my phone with me in HK and Beijing.)
