Wrapping Paper

One of those half meant jokes during calligraphy class was to get consistent enough that you could use your sheet for wrapping paper.

Now since I celebrate Christmas, it's premier wrapping paper season. I figured I should go with the theme. "Ho ho ho" seemed easiest.

I forgot that smushed together like that it's more likely to be read "oh oh oh"

Luckily it's stylized enough that no ones really going to be trying to read it either way. But I guess that's one idea out for wrapping!

(Once upon the time, the LF, who was four at the time, decided to inform us that his grandmother was like Santa Claus. His wording in doing so? "Grandma is a ho-ho-ho!" he cheerfully told us.)

The two "o's" at the bottom right of the photo look like a pair of eyes...

But that is pretty good penmanship. :)

Read an article today that observed that handwriting is going out of style. Not gonna happen with me, I guess; writing with a keyboard is easier, but I love my penmanship, and will continue to fill notebooks with it till I can't write any more. :)

Trufax. Colored pens and paper...if you choose pens with a chisel tip, you can even try calligraphy that way. (Which gives me an idea, now that I think of it.)

Another plus. No batteries required. :D

You can get calligraphy markers in National Bookstore, for about 30-50 pesos apiece :D It's harder to get good thin lines from them (because they don't lend themselves to it as well as metal tips do), but they're pretty awesome for playing with things in a pinch!

My condolences on the passing of your grandmother as well. Haven't been on DW for some time and only found out now. My grandfather passed just before Christmas as well. The past holiday hasn't been so happy has it.
