Flickr made a couple of changes, most notably removing any kind of integration with custom services, which has made it pretty useless to, so now I'm looking for another photo host.
Dropbox.com has public picture gallery stuff, but it has no privacy controls or tagging etc. It's just a directory you put directories of photos into, and it makes public galleries for you.
Alternately, buy a basic dreamhost.com account and domain and easy install an open source photo gallery package?
What kind of phone? I switched to Picasa because of the Android integration. It's not as nice as Flickr, but it's hard to beat a three-click interface. :)
(Flickr didn't work out very well on my phone :( It was slow and crashed it one out of three times, until I learned to upload pictures one at a time -- which kinda defeated the point of mass uploading unfortunately!)
I got a Flickr account because it seemed an easy way to do phone -> internet -> Dreamwidth, but phone -> internet was annoying because it was way too slow, and internet -> Dreamwidth is no longer easy, either.
So now nothing is keeping me on Flickr, and I'm looking for a faster way to do phone -> internet. If new service has internet -> custom (like DW) then that would be fantastic :D If not, then at least I have something better than I did before.

Those seem to be the best options, IMO...

I have webspace so that's another option, but I'm too lazy to manage my own when my needs are honestly just:
* upload from phone
* easy way to get URL
* linkable
(Any private photos I'll handle manually and stuff)
Thank you!

Same photo, outside of the photos directory:

Yeah, as I thought, giving out the direct URL bypasses any security check.
I'm fairly sure there's an Android Dropbox app too with the same functionality.
https://www.dropbox.com/anywhere

I see it now! From the app -- I was trying to get the link from the web interface where I just couldn't find it! Thanks.

Oh, yeah, from the desktop app you rightclick or ctrlclick I think.
Not sure about from the website.
