Pomegranates and the eating thereof
My mom and I eat pomegranates differently. I pick out the sacs one piece at a time, carefully studying the remaining ones at each step to pick out the most efficient next bit to pick out. She scoops it all out, dumps it into a cup, and eats them bunches at a time. It frustrates her when she sees me eat, because I am not being efficient. I am! Just... not in the same way she is.
This is one of the big things that defines our relationship, and it shows up especially when we are taking family vacations. I tend to not mind missing stuff if I missed it because I was spending so much time relaxing with other stuff; she doesn't want to waste time, and needs to try everything, even if it means rushing through and not enjoying individual things as much. We both frustrate each other like that.
My dad and I eat pomegranates differently: I eat the seeds, he spits them out. This is not, as far as I know, reflective of anything.
