I do the same as kareila, and remove people who have the exact same content from my default view (most of the time, if someone is posting lj-exclusive entries, they'll say it somewhere and I'll know to adjust accordingly)

For a few select people who don't crosspost, but who post so rarely that I'd probably miss them on my passes through my friendspage, I track them! *g* (That has been working out well for me).
